RiseBoro Atlas FFT-A
About RiseBoro FFT-A
RiseBoro’s Atlas program aims to reduce community and interpersonal violence by engaging people in a change process that nurtures hope and strengthens relationships.
Atlas meets people at times of crisis, such as an interpersonal or family conflict, a recent arrest, a recent court case, and connects them to free community-based therapeutic programming. These therapeutic models are evidence-informed meaning they have strong evidence of effectiveness in promoting personal change and preventing future involvement in violence or incarceration.
The models are culturally proficient, trauma-informed, and deeply respectful of the strength, wisdom, and personal agency that resides in people.
RiseBoro Atlas will accept referrals from anywhere, though most people will meet our staff following an arrest as a support mechanism to help individuals remain safely in their communities while managing the crisis moment of an open court case. Atlas services, like all of RiseBoro’s other Education services are always free to participants.
RiseBoro Atlas prioritizes the cultural and holistic well-being of people who have had experiences with interpersonal violence and punitive systems. Our community-based response to public safety and well-being are not connected to court processes. Thus, individuals remain eligible for services even after their court case has been resolved.
Our Team.

The RiseBoro Atlas team will work alongside community members and their identified family unit to provide therapeutic case management and functional family therapy. Within the model of FFT-A, individuals and families are experts of their own experience and considered as such in the planning and course of treatment.
Family units work with both a certified therapist and therapeutic case manager in a collaborative manner that centers the families connections and culture in a way that allows individuals and families to be met 'where they are'. All services; therapy sessions, supportive connections or meetings, are community-based and can be carried out wherever is best for the family unit.

Services
The evidence-based, culturally and trauma informed therapeutic services provided through our Atlas FFT-A program are aimed at supporting individuals involved with the criminal legal system, aged 18-28, and their identified family unit in strengthening and building on their existing capabilities and engaging in a positive change model that works for them.

Functional Family Therapy
Participants and their family unit will engage in regular family therapy sessions that are developed for THEIR family and are informed by and ask for family input throughout the process.

Community
Based
All therapy sessions, community meetings, supportive services etc can and will be carried out wherever is best for the family. Whether that be in their homes, at our offices, in their community or virtually.

Collaborative
Care
As the FFT-A model calls for family input in the therapeutic process and the clients and their families are centered as experts of their own experience, all those involved with services will work in a cohesive, collaborative and respectful way that best suits the paticipants.
